Humane Animal Trap Loan Program

Do you have feral cats in your neighborhood and wondering what you can to do to help them?
Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) is the method of humanely trapping feral cats, having them spayed or neutered, vaccinated for rabies and then returning them to their colony to live out their lives. TNR also involves a colony caretaker who provides food, adequate shelter and monitors the cat’s health. TNR has been shown to be the least costly as well as the most efficient and humane way of stabilizing feral cat populations. Learn more from Best Friends Animal Society or download instructions now.

A frequently asked question, “I have been feeding a cat, but it’s not mine and I can’t keep it. Will Pets Come First take it?”
Pets Come First, along with the The Hundred Cat Foundation, Centre County PAWS  and Clarion PAWS, receive numerous calls a week concerning cats people have found and have been feeding for months. If you are feeding and caring for a cat, it is now your cat! Feral (wild) cats are a constant problem everywhere. People have called demanding that the above mention rescues must come and pick these cats up. We are all doing our part to spay and neuter as many animals as funds and time allows. Since 2009, Pets Come First has worked in partnership with the Hundred Cat Foundation (HCF) to develop a TNR program in Centre County; it currently leases the house on the property and will continue to do so, offering low cost feral TNR clinics. The HCF currently has a waiting list and you must contact them directly. The Allegheny Spay/Neuter Clinic in Clearfield, Centre County PAWS, and Clarion PAWS offers reduced costs for spay/neuter. You must call them directly to make an appointment. Contact Pets Come First for more information.
